Elisha House is a recovery project founded in Colne, East Lancashire, in 2016 by a local couple passionate about giving back to their community.

At Elisha House we recognise addiction is a complex illness. We provide a safe, supportive environment and evidence based interventions which promote healing from trauma and the drivers of substance misuse.

As a Lived Experience Recovery Organisation (LERO), our approach is rooted in empathy and understanding. Our dedicated team, many of whom have lived experience with addiction and recovery, provides 24/7 support to adult males with a history of substance misuse.

Currently, we support 31 residents across the three stages of our project. Our mission is to assist individuals in achieving abstinence from all substances, including alcohol, while reconnecting with their families, building meaningful friendships, and exploring new passions.

A little glimpse into life at our Community Gym. 💪🏼🏋️

For us, it’s never really been about lifting the heaviest weights or being the fittest person in the room. It’s about showing up, supporting each other, and being part of something positive.

We’ve got people of all ages and fitness levels training together, and that’s what makes it special. No pressure, no judgement, just a supportive environment where everyone is welcome.

Update re Tough Mudder

The 20 tickets we purchased got snapped up pretty quickly and I had some people ask if they could be added to the wait list - I have just been told I can access some more spaces so if you was one of the people that asked please remind me.

Everyone is doing amazing with the fundraising and we are almost at 4k 💥

Also Tough Mudder have said that anyone willing to commit to half day or full day volunteering with them on the day they will give £50/£100 to our cause.

Click on the link below if you want more info about why and what we are doing.

It was lovely to welcome PC Rick Wilson from Operation Prosper, along with PC Keegan and PC Shannon, to Elisha House for a catch-up over a cappuccino 😊

We always value opportunities to connect with others and we’re looking forward to welcoming Rick back soon to speak with our Compass Youth Project 🧭 about County Lines and exploitation.

These conversations play an important role in helping young people recognise risks, and know where they can access support when they need it 💭❤️

Thank you to Rick, Keegan and Shannon for taking the time to visit us—we really enjoyed the opportunity to catch up💙🤝

Elisha House was the backbone for my recovery process. Because of the ongoing nature of the support and friendships I made I was able to focus and distract myself away from the addictions which had a hold on me previously.

Resident John

I've made friends for life here. The range of activities has also helped me transform my life.

Resident Kevin

Working at Elisha House gives me so much pleasure and sense of achievement. To see people transform their lives and to know you've been a part of that is something really special.
